State of the band

So as you may or may not know by now, we'll be parting ways with Jasper on January 14th after our San Antonio show at the 1011 with Twin Killers, the Grasshopper Lies Heavy, and more. I'm going to pull the typical "sorry, not tellin'" band comment here, but know that we're all very much friends, and we all love Jasper very much.

We'll also be playing one final show here in Austin with Jasper the day before on January 13th. This show will also be with Twin Killers as well as Zlam Dunk. If you live in either of these cities, please come out and make them both the ragers that they should be.

The full length is still very much being written, and hopefully soon, we'll be heading into some sort of recording enviornment to bang it out. Also, as of this moment, our 10 day March tour is still a go. We'll keep everyone in the know with what's going on, but keep in touch with us on Facebook, Twitter, and this blog. We'll see everyone soon!

Thank you, Jasper. We all love you very much and will miss you.

YouTube Video

Don't worry guys! We've been locked away in our little jam cave doing god knows what in addition to shaking the dirt off of some new songs. A BUNCH of new songs. You could even say we're working on a full length. Up until now the mission statement at team bg has been to "make the smiths sound like smash mouth".

With that, in march we're doing a 10 day tour of the Midwest. So stay tuned and maybe we'll play fr that ass. In time for tour we'll be selling tour only cd-r demos of a few songs from the upcoming record.

In January we'll be doing some Texas shows with our good friends TWIN KILLERS.

NEWS NEWS NEWS

Hi everyone. Lots of news to discuss! Firstly, we want to thank our good friend Andrew Stevens for playing drums for us for the past few months. Andrew played during the last three shows and also helped us demo some material that will appear on our upcoming full length. Check out his band Battle Bend at battlebend.bandcamp.com. We're also very excited to announce that our original drummer, Austin Matherne has rejoined the band after moving back from Baton Rouge. We're currently working with him to write our debut full length, and we're very anxious to finish it and start recording. In the mean time, we'll be playing two shows in the next couple of months here in town. This Saturday the 18th, we're opening up an AWESOME show at the Parish with San Francisco's Sleepy Sun and Dallas' True Widow. Doors are at 8:30, and all info can be found here: http://www.theparishaustin.com/show/detail/30411. In October we'll be opening up for Brooklyn's Ghastly City Sleep at the Mohawk. Our friends Cory Brim and For Hours and Ours will also be playing. And finally, in November, we'll be heading back to Louisiana for a couple of shows with our best pals in Twin Killers . Stay tuned for more info on these shows and more news coming soon. We're stoked to see everyone!

Tour Cancellation plus some good news

Hi y'all,

So as everyone may know by now, we're having to cancel the tour due to some things accumulating in our personal lives. These things have made it impossible for us to tour next month, and we are all super bummed about it. We've put a lot of hard work into making this happen for us, but of course we could not have come even remotely close if it were not for the kindess and generosity of old friends, new friends, and some complete strangers. Thanks to anyone who was willing to book a show for us next month. It means the world to us. This note does not come bearing only bad news, though. We will still be hopping over to South Louisiana for a week or so to work on some new songs for an upcoming split release and a new full length record to hopefully be released next fall. During the trip we'll be playing in New Orleans with Caddywhompus for the CD release show, and playing a house show in Baton Rogue with Thou and Twin Killers; the new project from Andrew Martin, formerly of People of Peru and Landmines, Baby! We'll also be opening up for the mighty mighty Caspian and Arms and Sleepers on their US tour when they come to Austin to play at the Mohawk on April 5th. Also, we'll hopefully be getting a short Southern tour in order very soon. Stay posted our Facebook, twitter, and myspace accounts for news. Hopefully we'll be seeing everyone very soon. Thanks. We love you all!
